Astrid & Matt’s Grand Wedding: Orchardleigh Estate

I remember the first time Astrid and I spoke, we were on the phone for over an hour, one of her main concerns was if 12 months was enough time to plan the wedding especially as she was so busy with work. One thing Astrid did knew was that for years she’s wanted Mati Gono Events to plan her big day. We set the plan in motion and got planning, we did all of the planning meetings via phone and used our virtual planning system to support the process. I didn’t meet Astrid & Matt face to face until their first cake tasting months into the planning process. Matt & Astrid got married on the 12th of April 2019.

How did you and Matt meet? Matt and I met on Match.Com. He contacted me first! After weeks of texting and emailing, I finally agreed to talk to him on the phone and then a few weeks later we met in person.

How long you’ve been together? We’ve been together for 2 years

How did Matt propose? Matt told me he wanted to take me to Devon where he held fond memories as a child – needless to say, things didn’t go according to plan (!!) but long story short, we went for a walk, near an old chapel that sits on a hill and overlooks the sea, we were walking for ages & I was complaining about how hot it was!- he then asked me to be his Girlfriend! His nerves had got the better of him, so I had to remind him that he meant Wife!!

What keeps your friendship so strong as a couple? We constantly make each other laugh. My job often causes me to be away from time to time, so we actively make time for each other & keep each other strong whilst going through tough times together. You learn a lot about each other when you go through challenging times.

Your favorite thing about Astrid? I love everything about her, so it’s hard to focus on one thing. Her personality, the way she carries herself and not forgetting how attractive she is. Everything about her is my favorite, but her eyes & smile are definitely my top two.

Your favorite thing about Matt? I love his smile, the way he has the ability to put his Love for me into action and how he goes out of his way to make me happy.
